Why I’m Forced to Raise Ksh100 Million Every Day- Narendra Raval
The chairman Mr. Narendra Raval of Devki Group of Companies narrated that the Ksh100 million daily was part of his target to hit Ksh2 billion every month.
Explaining how the money was spent, Raval stated that the cash was directed towards clearing salaries and electricity bills.
According to the chairperson of the task force formed by President William Ruto to establish the National Lottery, his companies have 11,000 employees.
“We are more worried about our work and to be paid on time. We have to pay for 11,000 people so we have to look for the money from the beginning,” Raval stated during an interview.
“Our salary and paying power comes to Ksh2 billion a month. So we have to look for Ksh100 million every day, excluding Sundays,” Raval insisted.
According to Raval, proper planning helps him and other managers to raise millions every day.
“If you don’t, they will go on strike, and the companies would be closed, so running a big industry is not easy,” he stated
“But you have to plan well,” Raval, who also runs National Cement maintained.
Besides spending billions, Raval stated that his companies in over 10 counties spend 50 per cent of their earnings on charity.
At the height of the pandemic, Raval went viral when he stopped steel production to produce oxygen that was given to public hospitals for free.
He further donated Ksh100 million to help the Jubilee administration address the adverse effects of the pandemic.
Addressing claims of getting government deals, Raval dispelled reports insisting that his companies do not apply for tenders.
“I have done work with the government, and I don’t supply to the government, and it is in our company policy,” Raval remarked.
The industrialist started his entrepreneurship journey at Gikomba, where he owned a shop. He expanded to invest in steel, barbed wire, building bars, and cement businesses.
